What’s my deal?
Hi! I’m Leslie, AKA Champagne Supernovice. Nope, not a superhero, just a self appointed handle. I’m a Scorpio – the October kind/ the best kind – and an only child. Anyone into numerology or astronomy?! Let me what all that means, I’d love to hear your thoughts!
I live in Hercules, CA with my Belgian husband and our toddler. Yes, I have to mention that my husband is Belgian because it’s cool. You don’t meet many Belgians. We met at where else, a Belgian restaurant in San Francisco. Can I say “Belgian” more? I don’t love Hercules (more on that in another post), but I love my fam and we have an in-ground hot tub which helps…a lot.

Champagne and iced tea keep me hydrated and I have never met a sandwich I didn’t love. That’s a lie. I had a “French Dip” once that had broccoli rabe in it. Huge let down. Belgian Husband and I spent the day wandering/drinking beer around a rainy Seattle. All I wanted was fresh bread topped with thin sliced roast beef, some swiss cheese or just a little swipe of horseradish mayo and served with delectable au jus but instead I got all of the above and broccoli rabe. That was in 2017. I think I’m almost over it.
Where was I, oh yes….
As I mentioned earlier, we live in the SF Bay Area. Yay Area! We can (barely)afford to do so mostly because of Belgian husbands income. I contribute by working (barely)full time pushing paper at an office in Berkeley. It. Is. Thrilling.

When I’m not making my loved ones proud mastering Quickbooks, I like to cook/bake (enthusiasm is there, we are still working on skill and execution), drink Champagne, marinate in the hot tub, explore California with the fam, watch Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, listening to podcasts and not finish my craft projects.
What’s the deal with the blog?
The idea for this blog came along because I needed a place to express myself. I know, I know, that is what everyone says. But honestly, my days are spent behind a desk pushing paper around and my evenings are spent at home behind the stove pushing pots and pans around and I just feel like I was put on this Earth/simulation for more than that.
Just a heads up, this blog/website is not geared towards a specific genre or any niche product. I cannot tell you how to how to keep you chicken moist, I overcook them then smother mine in bure blanc sauce. I have zero parenting hacks. Toddler watches Moana while I’m in the kitchen drying out the chicken. Relationship advice? Instead of saying “Belgian Husband, love of my life, would you mind cooking dinner tonight? I’m out of inspiration,” I sulk around the kitchen, closing cabinets a smidge too hard and dry out the chicken because If I don’t who will!
However, with that being said, I think I’m funny and creative and I’d like to share that with everyone…and I have a lot to share. There are a few craft-y projects I am working on that I will post updates for and quite possibly finish, and I will definitely get my act together and post some recipes too. I need to apologize in advance though because I don’t know how to use commas.
Thanks for stopping by. Let’s rock and roll kiddos!
